The Research Of Riverfront Landscape Design Of Lanzhou From The View Of Regional Culture

Water is the source of life and gave birth to the emergence and development of the city. In recent years, the planning and design of waterfront landscape has always been the hot spot of urban construction and it has gradually become an important way to promote the image of the city. However, due to the accelerating speed of globalization and the impact of foreign culture makes the regional characteristic of the city gradually disappear, not excepting the waterfront landscape. Under the background of new era designers should know and understand the regional culture again, looking for a new way to shape regional characteristics.This paper firstly studied the related concepts and theories of the regional culture and the waterfront landscape, understanding their development course and general situation from two aspects at home and abroad. Combined with the example, design principle and technique of expression on waterfront landscape embodying regional culture were summarized. The regional culture of Lanzhou was integrated from the natural environment and cultural environment. The status of riverside landscape on regional culture embodiment and other aspects in Lanzhou were investigated and analyzed. The advantages and existing problems are summarized. Finally, the paper discussed how to construct waterfront landscape of Lanzhou with regional characteristics and some upgrade strategies were proposed against the existing problems.
