The excellent urban landscape construction ways are stress overall concept,as same as China traditional culture.Through artificial construction activities,combined with favorable environmental conditions for the natural landscape.Then,create a suitable、euphonious and meaningful surrounding.Eventually reach “Nature and Man in One”!So it is significant to learning Chinese traditional urban landscape construction way,in order to guide modern urban how to do in the future.Datong located the center of Datong Basin which in northern Shanxi Province,and the northeast edge of the Loess Plateau.It has a very domineering appellation,and it is one of the historical and cultural city by the State Council released the first batch.Since2008,Datong begin restoring ancient city protection plan,restore the style and features that as same as Ming Dynasty’s city scene,but,worthy of our consideration is how to grasp the “soul” of ancient experience.The purpose of this project are to explore humanistic ideas and historical experience,to ease the disjointed between urban construction and scenery.Based on the analysis of ancient Datong,about geographical features,the natural landscape environment,political history and socio-economic.Sort out the development process of the construction of the ancient city of Datong.The first urban construction during the Qin and Han dynasties;the capital construction under the rule of Xianbei Ethnic during the Northern Wei dynasty;the provisional capital construction under the command of Khitan Ethnic during Liao and Jin dynasties;and the military townsconstruction during Ming and Qing dynasties.Then,discussed construction features of ancient Datong,from site selection 、axes、landscape pattern and system、urban layout、and the important space node.Then summed up the regional formed by the landscape environment;the city circle formed by the city spatial pattern;the piece circle formed by the important nodes space,these circles constitute the urban landscape system,and provides us with a holistic cognition.Finally,the paper reviews the current situation created by the modern city of Datong,then include the problems in it.At last,presented to the historical experience of learning strategies.
