Renovation Design Of Architectural Appearance In Xueshan Village,Baoxing County, Sichuan Province

With a rapid development of Chinese economy, people gradually realize the importance of urban and rural construction. During the rapid present process of urbanization, inheritance and development of resident culture have been facing lots of issues, such as being lack of regional features and focusing on western architectural styles. Xueshan village is one of few villages which retain the traditional resident architecture. Traditional resident, however, has already not satisfied the modern life of villagers. This thesis is mainly based on resident renovation design, trying to inherit the pithiness of traditional resident by means of modern design, and providing solutions for the convergent crisis of each present urban appearance.First, based on literature analysis, this thesis collects materials from the historical culture and local features of Xueshan village, and analyses and concludes the related details of excellent domestic and oversea cases of resident renovation design and the practice of regional cultural inheritance by means of case study. Second, by on-the-spot investigation, it mainly makes a deep research on the present villagers of Xueshan village. Last, it reaches conclusion to ensure the design objective and orientation, and the design methods and proposals, conducting design through the aspects of resident architectural styles, material, and elements, etc.This thesis researched and analyses the inheritance and development of regional culture during resident renovation, especially the present resident of Xueshan village. It hopes that the final design proposal and research achievement can have certain reference value for other resident renovation design.
