Xinjiang is located in the remote areas of northwest China. The architectural structure forms of most of village and town residential buildings in this area are traditional such as the adobe structure, wood structure and brick structure. Due to some deficiencies existed in the adobe structure, wood structure and brick structure in some aspects, such as thermal insulation, durability or anti-quake, which cannot meet the demand of village and town residential buildings in Xinjiang. Xinjiang is an area that not only cold but also earthquake-frequently-hit. Therefore, an architectural structure form both energy saving, environmental protection, low cost and thermal insulation, durability, compressive property, anti-quake is studied, it is of a very urgent practical significance to accelerating village and town construction, changing the backward village and town living environment.Based on the needs of village and town construction in Xinjiang, it is proposed to a new form of wall structure, namely the new thermal insulation lightweight concrete hollow block and adobe composite wall structure(referred to as the new composite wall structure). This kind of wall structure is to put EPS mixed soil in lightweight concrete hollow block hole, and set lightweight insulation concrete constructional column and ring beam in corresponding position of the wall. The new composite wall structure has the characteristics of light weight, thermal insulation, energy saving, anti-quake and good economy, which is very suitable for village and town buildings in Xinjiang.Based on the previous research, the paper makes the new composite wall as the research object, and uses the high thickness ratio, outer mold strength and inner core strength as influencing factors, then a total of thirteen pieces of wall specimens are designed and produced. Through the experimental study and theoretical analysis, the failure process, failure pattern and main influencing factors of compressive strength and compressive bearing capacity calculation formula of this kind of wall structure are studied. The main research contents and achievements are presented as follows:(1)A total of thirteen new composite wall specimens of non-constructional column and constructional column are tested under the action of vertical loads of the compressive properties. It is analyzed to the influences of high-thickness ratio, outer mold strength, inner core strength and constructional column for the failure process, failure pattern and compressive strength of the new composite wall structure. The results show that it is similar to the destructive process of the axial compression between non-constructional column of the new composite wall and the ordinary masonry wall. And influence of outer mold strength and inner core strength are obviously to compressive strength of the new composite wall. Under the same conditions, compressive strength of the new composite wall increases as the outer mold strength increases, and also increases as the inner core strength increases.(2)On the basis of the experimental study on the new composite block masonry compression, and combined with the grouted concrete block masonry compression test data and research results both in domestic and foreign, the paper uses the deformation compatibility condition and static equilibrium condition to establish the calculation formula of compressive strength on the new composite block masonry.On the basis of the experimental study on the new composite wall compressive performance, with the reference to code for design of masonry structures(GB50003-2011) on the calculation formula of compressive bearing capacity of the masonry, and combined with the calculation formula of compressive strength on the new composite block masonry, the calculation formula of compressive bearing capacity on the new composite wall is established, by compared the calculate values with the experimental values, the results showing that the calculate values coincide well with the experimental values. The research achievements of this paper will provide reference to the application of this kind of composite wall as soon as possible.
