This paper analyses the advantages and disadvantages of several kinds of electric vehicle drive motor, Doubly salient motor shows the advantage when it be used as the drive motor.Sums up the development situation of doubly salient motor, Analyzes the operation principle of doubly salient permanent magnet motor, Lists it’s mathematical model. According to the standards of electric vehicle drive motor, Combination of permanent magnet motor design methods and formulas, Used the software written by laboratory, Designed a doubly salient permanent magnet wheel motor.Learn several methods for the analysis of motor performance, Emphasis on the finite element analysis method that used in this paper, Combining with the steps of the finite element analysis, First, Divide the solution domain of the motor, Then on the basis of the data of this type of motor and chute calculations associated Settings, Adapted laboratory written finite element analysis software, Finally, used this software to split and calculation the Dobly Salient hub motor.According to the calculation results, analysis it’s load and no-load performance, Mainly analyzes the positioning torque, winding flux linkage, winding electromotive force and electromagnetic torque. The results showed that some of its performance in the rotor chute will improve, But part of the performance is reduced, Finally analyses the best chute Angle of this motor, By comparision the armature and electromagnetic torque when it in different chute angle, Gives the best chute angle.
