Both diesel generator and UPS are key facilities of data center power supply system. When grid voltage is not available, the diesel generator-UPS system will provide power for data center infrastructure, thus the compatibilit y between generator directly affects the availabilit y of the ent ire data center power supply system. However, currently in the domestic or foreign data center power supply system, there are some inco mpatible problems between the UPS and die sel generator.UPS capacit ive characteristic is an important cause to result in diesel generator-UPS system inco mpatibilit y. By researching why the diesel generator steady-state loading capacity and UPS capacitive characteristic can cause failure of diesel generator-UPS system, this paper puts forward how to design the ratio o f diesel generator-UPS capacit y considering UPS capacitive characterist ic.Harmonic distortion is an important factor of affecting stable operation of the diesel generator-UPS system. By analyzing harmonic distortion influence mechanism to the entire diesel generator-UPS system, this paper proposes the related calculation formula of total harmonic voltage distortion, and how to design the ratio to avoid the diesel generator-UPS system being affected by harmonic distortion, thus gives a solution to solve the incompatibilit y issues caused by harmonic distortion.Low frequency oscillat ion is also a key factor to affect the compatibilit y o f the diesel generator-UPS system. In some cases, when the diesel generator supplies power for the UPS, the system interface may appear low frequency oscillation phenomena. For stabilit y problem between high frequency UPS and diesel generator, based on the dynamic models of diesel generator and high frequency UPS under dq the rotating coordinate system, applying norm criterion, this paper gives a quantitative analysis. For stability problem between silico n controlled rectifier UPS and diesel generator, this paper qualitatively analyses the influence of the control parameters of the rectifier by using simulat ion model.
