In the elevator dotted with city, how to prevent the elevator safety, reasonably and scientifically on the basis of ensure the safety of the elevator to use by people, reduce the threat to human and property caused has become serious about people production and living problems. Especially the public safety of the lift is no longer the traditional production safety, but social public security problem, thus reducing accidents and improve the elevator safety coefficient, is the government for public management must face the important issue.At first, this paper analysis the present situation of our urban public elevator, points out its problems, mainly has the following several aspects: manufacturing installation process exist hidden dangers, maintain the market order, use the unit subject duty performance does not reach the designated position, improper common citizens to use the elevator, the examination institution passive, regulators face law enforcement services. Secondly, analyzes the cause of the urban public elevator safety management problems, reason basically has the following several aspects: manufacturing installation unit safety consciousness, maintain the pursuit of economic efficiency, use the unit to ignore main body responsibility, citizen consciousness, lack of public safety testing agencies monopoly market and demand contradiction, regulatory means. Finally, puts forward urban public elevator safety management countermeasures: manufacturer of elevator safety responsibility "for life", standardize maintenance market, to ensure the safety of common elevator use, guide the social formation, positive public opinion direction, promote the marketization of testing institutions, to strengthen public supervision lift.
