Casing pipe boring machine is a boring equipment for transportation construction, mainly used in railway, highway and other tunnels projects, the casing pipe boring machine is good environmental protection, flexible, high drilling efficiency, etc, and a combination of advantages of casing pipe drilling rig and hydraulic drilling rig, and its successful development will provide a new direction for the tunnel construction. the shield in tunnel construction occupies more and more important position in our country, but technically foreign dominated, leading to the purchase price of shield is too high, the whole construction of its preparatory process is trival and cost is high, to some extent,it restricts the application of shield in our country.The paper presents a method of overall design scheme of casing pipe boring machine, which is based on the application of shield and the development of casing drilling rig and hydraulic rotary drilling rig, and the analysis of technology solutions and trends of the large-scale drilling equipment at home and abroad, completed the structure design of the main parts of casing pipe boring machine. Computer aided design technology has been used in the design, a three-dimensional model of casing pipe boring machine is established by Creo, which make it materialized, visualization, based on which to optimize, short the design cycle and improved work efficiency. Using the theory of finite element analysis, the paper uses ANSYS Workbench software to analyze the casing pipe, the walking mechanism and the luffing mechanism of the bracket of casing pipe boring machine, which provide theoretical basis for the follow-up optimal design. Stiffness and strength of components can’t be accurately calculated, so a large safety factor is necessary, it leads to a heavy body. By using the method, the situation has improved. And it makes the design more reasonable, the structure more reliable, the dynamic performance more optimization. By using Matlab and Creo software, completed analysis of kinematics and inverse, and trajectory planning of the secondary mechanism, and realized intelligent control.The design of the casing pipe boring machine has many good characteristics, such as environment friendly, greater pressure and lifting, high drilling efficiency, flexible walking, stable working conditions, road conditions adaptable and so on. It is suitable for hard rock conditions to meet the needs of the rapid development of China’s rail transportation. The machine belongs to a new type of equipment, on the premise of demand of construction, the design saves a lot of money, makes the equipment lightweight, provides new development direction for tunneling construction, changing the monopolistic market of foreign products.
