Passive design is not only the basic content of building thermal environment design, but also to provide for the construction of energy-saving design guidance. Domestic and foreign scholars and architects for different countries and climates, a large number of passive design of large buildings. But Chengdu residential building, the passive design somewhat scarce. To solve the above problems, first through field research and literature survey, combing the status of Chengdu residential building and indoor thermal environment to explore the feasibility and necessity of Chengdu residential buildings using passive design. By thermal comfort surveys and tests to determine the evaluation criteria Chengdu comfortable indoor thermal lived through numerical simulation technology, combined with economic analysis, given the Chengdu residential building passive design technical solutions.First, the current situation in Chengdu residential buildings conducted an investigation and analysis. The results showed that the climatic conditions in Chengdu is the main factor affecting the decision of indoor thermal environment; at the same time after the building ontology research found that the building layout and thermal performance itself, it can not meet the indoor thermal comfort requirements. Urgent need to design technical solutions to innovate Chengdu residential buildings.Secondly, the Chengdu residential building indoor thermal comfort conducted a field study and their data were analyzed. The results showed that the proportion of residential buildings of four factors Chengdu indoor thermal environment: temperature> humidity> Clothing resistance / speed. And thus the proposed evaluation Chengdu residential building indoor thermal comfort standard TCR, UCR.Finally, from summer heat and winter insulation angle, combined with the actual situation, given the passive design techniques appropriate to adopt Chengdu residential buildings, combined with numerical simulation technology and economic evaluation, Chengdu residential buildings have been passive design techniques program.
