Large pumped storage power station operation flexible and responds quickly,is a special power supply which has a variety of functions such as peaking peak shaving,emergency standby and black start in the power system,and the most economical large-scale energy storage facilities.Among them,static frequency converter(SFC,Static Frequency Converter) is one of the specific important electrical equipments used in large pumped storage power station,its function is to gradually increase the speed of the generator until reversible unit put in to the power grid through electromagnetic,which generated by adjusting the current frequency of the reversible unit stator winding after a field established by Reversible rotor unit.As a new way of synchronous drive,static frequency converter has many advantages:high efficiency and good control performance;smooth start and without out of step problems;multiple units can share a set of SFC and thus reduce the investment of single machine;start fast and reliably,and the impact on motor and grid is very small,etc.Frequency conversion starting is the preferred way to start pumping conditions of the large pumped storage power station,it is not only a important means of advancing reliable and economical operation of storage station as well as improving the success rate of start,but aslo a necessary requirement to achieve safe and stable operation of the power grid.This paper mainly studies the static frequency converter of pumped storage power station running existing questions in the application process in Guangzhou. Based on the frequency conversion start working principle and operation mode, through the collection of SFC in large pumped storage power station fault problems often occurred in the application, the common faults of SFC operation were analyzed and statistical reasons, and obtained a general processing method; fault occurrence control system of SFC, based on the principles of rotor position detection of SFC and its realization, characteristic of "Starting Motor FT" and "Motor Stalled Ft" and the fault detection methods are analyzed; the resulting overcurrent fault SFC drag unit CP process of Guangzhou Pumped Storage Plant B SFC outage month in depth, reason the flow is determined by the fault record analysis, and gives the specific solutions.
