As the first defence line of power system, relay protection is the ensurence of power system security and stablility. Fault recorder provides an important data basis for relay protection performance analysis and fault location. Fault location plays an important rule in reducing the burden of transmission line patrol, speeding up transmission line repair and protecting the power supply reliability.Fault location based on microcomputer protection device can provide the result of fault location on the spot, and has important significance to accelerate circuit troubleshooting. However, the fault location results based on existing protection device are measured using impedance distance protection, whose accuracy is very poor, increases the fault line patrol personnel’s work intensity and difficulty. Therefore, how to realize the precise fault location has practical significance in microcomputer protection device.IEC61850 Ed.2 provides the communication standard for the realization of network microcomputer protection. Microcomputer protection device can subscribe SV packet from both sides of substations, makes it possible to achieve the precise two terminal fault location based on microcomputer protection device. While the implementation of fault location in the interior of the device, relies on achieving fault recorder.in the interior of the device. The microcomputer protection device can easily subscribe SV of 256 points per cycle sampling rate and GOOSE packets, to provide a data basis for realization of fault recording.If the station all networked microcomputer protection device realize fault recorder function, it is not difficult to achieve recording system based on IEC61850. Even if a fault recorder fails, only an channel is missing, does not affect the total recording system, which improves the reliability of the system; and there’s no need to install special fault recorder, which saves equipment investment.To realize fault recorder and fault location based on microcomputer protection device, depends on the powerful hardware platform and software platform. While microcomputer protection device developed by our research group has the powerful data processing ability and Ethernet communication ability, so we use the microcomputer protection device as the core platform to carry out in-depth research R & D work on fault recorder and location system based on IEC61850 standard, the main contents are as follows:Firstly, designs and builds the fault recorder and location system based on microcomputer protection device. According to the IEC61850-90-1 protocol, designs the fault recorder and location architecture between substations; designs the fault recorder and location architecture inside substation, and does quantitative analysis of network delay composition. Then, designs dual redundant star network. Finally, uses two dual core CPUs to build the hardware platform of fault recorder and location, based on which, builds the software platform, including UBL program, U-boot, embedded Linux operating system, JFFS2 file system and fault location procedure and algorithm.Secondly, establishs information and communication IEC61850 model of fault recorder and location system.Strictly following the IEC61850 protocol, in the modeling way of "firstly decomposite, then combine", builds the information model of fault recorder and location system. Based on the first version of IEC61850 and IEC61850-90-1, achieves communication model of fault recorder and location system; Based on analysis of the implementation mechanism and the frame format of GOOSE and SV, achieves GOOSE, SV sending and receiving procedures.Lastly, carrys out the closed-loop test of fault recorder and location system. On the basis of RTDS simulation platform, builds a fault recorder and location test environment, then carries out the closed loop test, which shows the effectiveness of the system.
