As the last step of the power system,which directly facing the end users,distribution network is an important part of the power system.The operation of the distribution network is directly related to the quality and reliability for users,and ensures the safety of the distribution network that is of great significance to the long-term stable operation of the power system.Usually,the traditional distribution network only set fault line detection devices without fault location system,this way relies on manual inspection greatly increases fault location time,reduces efficiency and expandes the damages of distribution networks fault.Firstly,this paper introduces the operating characteristics and basic structure of the current distribution network and analyzes the fault features,to lay the foundation for the fault location algorithm.Secondly,this paper learns existing methods for fault time detection,fault line selection,fault phase selection and fault location in distribution networks through a large number of literature,and analyzes and compares the applicable network environments of different methods to ensure the accuracy of fault diagnosis results.Next,a fault location system in distribution network is built combining the research on the characteristics of distribution network system,the characteristics of distribution network faults and the existing method of fault location.The fault location software in distribution network based on fault feature matching is realized through Visual C++ language programming.When the fault occurs,the fault data recorded and restored by the fault recorder,and then the software obtains the fault features by analyzing and calculating the restored data,and finally realize the foundation of fault location.Finally,a distribution network model is established under the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment and the fault data is extracted by the simulation of the module.Then we simulate the function of the fault recorder to form the COMTRADE file to test the accuracy of the fault location software.A large number of tests prove that the software has a good effect on fault time determination,fault phase selection,fault line selection and fault location of the distribution network.The software performs fault diagnosis based on COMTRADE standard wave recording files.It is practical for distribution network systems that using recording data as the main data source currently.At the same time,it is more accurate to realize fault location,providing a great help to fault recovery and fault analysis for the staff,with strong practicality.
