During the entire process of the research, development, production, acceptance inspection and maintenance of weaponry, automatic test system is used to test and evaluate the function and performance, which improves the scientificity of weaponry’s overall design and verification and greatly promotes the reliability of weaponry during use. Since the demands for the informatization capability of weaponry are increasing, the weaponry ATE(Automatic Test Equipment) which is important equipment of the support system has to adapt to the requirement. The development of universal munition ATE that meets the need for information system is of vital significance for improving the informatization and universalization level of military supporting equipment.The information system is researched to design the system architecture of ATE based on the HIT-TENA software platform which has the capability to develop information application system. The testing requirement of a series of munition is analyzed to propose the functional and technical indexes of ATE and complete the overall plan.The VXI bus technology is adopted and certain VXI instrument modules are selected reasonably to constitute the instrument resources. The application-specific processing chips such as SA7110 and AL250 are used for video signal processing,which achieves the acquisition and display of munition video signal. The universal TUA(Test Unit Adapter) which supports the testing work for a series of munition is designed to improve the versatility of equipment. On this basis, test equipment with the ability of parallel test is integrated to built the hardware platform. A selfchecking simulator with good versatility is developed to support the equipment selfinspection before test.The satellite signal test component and a variety of VXI instrument module drive components are developed on the HIT-TENA software platform, which form the basic ability for combined applications of ATE. The test process editing component is used to develop the comprehensive testing process and unit testing process for a series of munition and finish the development of munition automatic test software. The sharing of munition testing data is achieved with the help of theplatform’s data sharing ability.The results of practical application provide that this automatic test equipment has good stability, reliability and universality, which satisfies the user’s requirement.
