Since stadium is coming from the early non-evolved form, resulting traditional stadium designing in a less considerable on spectators’ visual comfort. With the development of sports globalization, requirement for people watching sporting events is increasing highly, stadium building design has become increasingly refined.Whether it is by watching television or live, outdoor sports during light on the playing field has a certain impact on the audience’s vision. Through controlling artificial light by light design and adjustment, we can basically ensure the stadium staying in a shadow-less condition in order to avoid the effect on vision when watching the match. But the natural light source can not be controlled, we can only rely on the designing of the stadium itself to create high visual comfortable environment. Mainly affecting factors on the stadium natural light and shadow environment are stadium morphological changes(geometry, canopy shape), the stadium canopy material photometric characteristics, the location of stadium and the holding time of game. In these factors, morphological changes and awning materials of stadium can be selected and controlled by architect in the designing process.Through the eye tracker simulation experiments on spectators’ visual comfort in natural light and shadow environment of stadium field region, we try to establish a method for researching the spectator visual comfort in natural light and shadow environment of stadium field region. Firstly, we analyze the main forming factors for the natural light and shadow environment of stadium field region combining with the visual theory, and then exploring the effects on spectators’ vision comfort in natural light and shadow environment of stadium field region. On this basis, through the study of eye movement test theories, we design the eye tracker simulation experiments and data analysis methods. After this, we begin to analyze the data of various types on light and shadow. Summarized a type of rule changing shadow、a type of irregular changing shadow、 a type of combined changing shadow and other factors influence the spectators’ vision comfort. Finally,we discuss how to induce the influence on spectators’ vision comfort from the aspects of contrast of light and shadow、truss shadow form、rod changing shadow and so on, combining the design of stadium canopy structure and material, in order to provide initial guidance for future refinement stadium design.Through the methods of basic researching、eye tracker simulation experiment、data analysis、specific examples of analysis, we introduce a new way to research the spectators’ vision comfort in natural light and shadow environment of stadium field region in order to provide new ideas for similar studies and finding a new perspective for the stadium canopy designing in the future.
