In recent years, problems and losses from failure of waterproof increase gradually. They have seriously affected people’s normal life. Self-adhesive waterproof coiled material is a common waterproof material as raw materials for the application of waterproof layer thickness measurement commonly used method for preparing traditional field sampling, laboratory testing, and in this way there is time-consuming, low sampling rate, destructive and other shortcomings. Therefore, self-adhesive waterproof coiled material construction site inspection quality waterproofing system became an urgent problem to be solved. In order to ensure the quality of water works construction, this paper puts forward a simple, accurate and reliable method in engineering field to detect adhesive coiled material waterproof layer thickness.The principle work as follows:(1)The waterproof layer thickness measurement technology and ultrasonic nondestructive testing technology development at home and abroad are introduced; then the main technical difficulties and hotspot issues about the ultrasonic nondestructive detection of waterproof layer thickness is analyzed. Through the study of previous laboratory work, a B-scan ultrasonic nondestructive system of measuring self-adhesive waterproof layer thickness is designed.(2)In view of the influence of ultrasonic image segmentation caused by speckle noise, four algorithms have been studied comparatively which can not only remove noise but also retain the edge. A set of suitable methods for adhesive coiled material waterproof layer contour extraction are given. It can accurately segregate the background area and target zone in pictures, and realize the automation of waterproof layer thickness measurement through thickness calculation algorithm based on the statistical average.(3)The application software has been designed to solve the three technical problems in the actual programming, through good human-computer interaction interface ensure the real-time online detection of self-adhesive waterproof layer thickness based on the B-scan ultrasonic nondestructive system.(4)This article uses a measuring algorithm to calculate waterproof layer thickness, and compares them with manual measuring results. The experimental results show that the proposed method and manual measurement lead to consistent results. This method can accurately acquire values of the waterproof layer thickness. It provides a new method for automatic measurement of the waterproof layer thickness in engineering field.
