Digital definition of aircraft has become increasingly mature, however, aircraft tooling is still at the joint definition phase of 2D drawing and 3D model, traditional serial working pattern is mainly adopted for the tooling development process, which can affect the aircraft development cycle severely. In this thesis, combined with the specific needs of the large aircraft development, the digital definition technology research on the aircraft tooling has been researched and the concurrent working pattern based on the maturity management has also been proposed. It has been applied on large aircraft tooling, the specification of tooling digital difintion has been formed. A good case provide in domestic tooling digital definition.The main contents of this thesis are as follows: According to the characteristics of the aircraft tooling design, tooling attributes such as the process, design, manufacturing, check and maintenance etc are proposed. Moreover, the specification for the tooling digital model definition is established, which helps achieve the digitization and structuralization of tooling information and provide the basis for digital manufacturing and information management of the tooling. The maturity concept is introduced in the aircraft tooling digital definition and the correlated model oriented to the upstream and downstream process is established. According to the characteristics of the aircraft tooling design, seven maturity levels are divided and the standards reached at each maturity stage and corresponding generated attributes are also defined. According to the core business object of the tooling process control, the concept of process reengineering is proposed based on the digital definition and maturity. The aircraft tooling design process control system is also developed based on the Windchill platform.
