At present, the internal development of aircraft tooling has many disadvantages such as longperiod, high cost, low digital level, uncontrollable quality, which have become the bottleneck ofpromoting international competitiveness for internal aviation enterprises. MBD (Model basedDefinition) is the next-generation product digital definition language for computer application. Itintegrates all design and manufacture information of a product, which provides a possibility of digitalpaperless parallel product development. To apply MBD technology to tooling, MBD-based digitaldefinition and collaboration technology for tooling is expounded and a simple application andmanagement system is developed. The major research work is organized as follows:First, the definition and management technology of tooling-oriented MBD model is described.The mathematical MBD model of tooling is established on the basis of tooling’s features. Toolingrequirement information is well organized by geometry, property and annotation. Specifications oftooling part, subassembly and final assembly are introduced in detail. The tooling-oriented MBDmodel is well managed by integrated interface, annotation classified display and so on.Second, the rapid batch assembly technology of tooling’s MBD standard parts is given to satisfythe total modeling specification. The batch assembly principle and the MBD constraint specificationare introduced. Then, the parametric design driven by design table and interactive interface isexplained in detail. In addition, some related technologies are analyzed, such as extraction andidentification of same features, dimension auto-match, preview and instantiation.Third, the tooling’s collaborative development technology driven by MBD model’s maturity isstated. Members of top-level management IPT (Integrated Product Team) and tooling-oriented IPT arediscussed. Maturity-based collaborative development processes of upstream-downstream departmentsand tooling department are provided. Two collaborative technologies are mainly explained, one is thecollaborative change technology based on parts DSM (Design Structure Matrix), the other is thedesign and manufacturing integrated technology.Finally, the MBD-based digital definition and collaboration management system for aircrafttooling is developed with CAA (Component Application Architecture) C++technology. An exampleof tooling is illustrated, which indicates the system is effective and practical. |
