Open-graded friction course (OGFC) is a kind of interconnected pores open-graded asphalt mixtures, the porosity of 15% or more, and it has excellent noise reduction, drainage, anti-sliding, which has much concern from the pavement construction. Currently, the traditional low-noise road surface even though it can meet the noise reduction expected results, but its high porosity, low asphalt content, there is relatively some shortcomings like poor strength and durability etc. This paper introduces OGFC road drainage development at home and abroad and its current use condition. The OGFC asphalt mixture design parameters, and a comprehensive analysis of air void are analyzed here. The main factors of effects on porous asphalt pavement noise reduction and its noise reduction mechanism are explored simply. The principle of its noise reduction is summarized. The paper has explained the test method of the loose asphalt mixture resistance, high temperature, water stability, fatigue and other properties, proposed to increase the performance of mixtures and the use of performance measures and programs. Combined with Henan Copper Mountain Boulevard Zhumadian OGFC-13 test road construction,it describes asphalt pavement construction, testing and maintenance management.
