A main charge structure with eccentric multi spots initiation is able to increse charge energy utilization and makes majority of fragments disperse in the direction of a target through controlling rotation and braking of the charge structure, so the main charge structure can improve kill probability in the directional orientation depending on increasing velocities and distribution density of fragments. This technology involes academic questions and research difficulties of fagments dispersing mechanism, effects on targets, and rotating actuator and braking of eccentric initiation warhead, so this paper researched on rotating direction and lethality of warheads with eccentric multi spots initiation.Aim for AEACS, this paper analyzed the vulnerability and the target and missile intersection. This paper designed rotating direction warhead s with eccentric initiation by analysis on the structure of rotating actuator of heart-shaped charge, function mechanisme and the requirements of warheads’ fragment dispering orientation, directional rotating angle, braking orientation error and responsing rate of rotating direction.Based on LS-DYN A, fragment velocities, distribution, kinetic energy and penetration effects of typical heart-shaped charge structures by different ways of initiation were researched. Comparing with axisymmetric charge structures of the same quality, size and charge-weight ratio, results showed fragment velocities of the heart-shaped charge warheads were relatively low, but distribution density and total kinetic energy were improved in the target direction which could enhance the penetration effect on a target.In order to realize rapid rotation and directional response of the warhead s, this paper studied on the rules of driving and braking under the pyrotechnic actuator with methods of theoretical calculation and numerical simulation, and achived different qualities of warheads rotating angles and rotational speeds changed over time under the driving of different gunpower qualities. This paper also achieved response rate and braking directional accuracy of rotating direction warheads under the effect of braking charge. Results showed warheads could achieve rapid rotation and orientat ion with corresponding to fragment dispering angles under the driving and braking under the pyrotechnic actuator.On the basis of the calculation of the target and missile intersection, the rotating direction and braking efficiency of the warhead, this paper studied on the dynamic killing effects of the target under the eccentric multi spots initiation warhead. Results showed that the warhead with eccentric multi spots initiation under the pyrotechnic actuator, the rotating direction satisfied the requirement of the target and missile intersection, and the killing effects of a target were superior to the conventional axisymmetric warhead, so the results showed that the eccentric multi spots initiation and rotating direction technology of the heart-shaped charge structure greatly improved the killing effects of the target and would have a good engineering application prospect.
