City open space landscape as the most important part of city overall planning and design always has a unique charm. However, the rapid development of science and economy not only provide the new technology and new power, also bring some problems, which city becomes crowded and inadequate infrastructure with lack of natural and social resources, or some other problems, such as the physical and mental health as well. These make city people think does the open space where people live and get together happily have gone? The answer is no. It still there, just restructuring. Days turn more different than before, now the city environment makes the landscape design of the city open space becomes more complicated. City needs a warm and humanity of open space landscape. And it is necessary to take the emotional needs of people into account while planning and designing, which forming a new pattern: open space—public space.It follows that nowadays the landscape of city open space needs taking advantage of emotional design. It is a significance in this paper that why people should design for the emotion and the effect and value of emotional design as well as how to do with the emotional design etc. At this point, this paper used three levels: visceral, behavioral, and reflective as a direction, which referred to the book of Emotional Design written by Norman, analyzing the landscape design of city open space. At the same time, the A.C.B model based on the A.C.T model could be an assistant in order to ensure there would be a relevance to the three levels of landscape design.Firstly, this paper introduces theoretical basis like the purpose, significance, and development of the topic related. All kinds of cases in this paper could be a very important support material. Secondly, the study of parts of the cases in the paper would be used the Post Occupancy Evaluation, elaborating the importance of user experiences, also help to have a better understanding and application of the emotional design. Finally, combining with the real cases could be the demonstration and analysis, which sums up the keypoint of emotional design of city open space landscape. The ultimate goal of this paper is hoping these analyses can provide the references and thoughts for the future designers and users, which these would create a pleasant and comfortable landscape of open space for the people living in the cities.
