Study On Overlays Design Of Urban Cement Concrete Pavement In Nanchang City

From the mid-1990 s to the first five years of this century, plenty of cement concrete paved urban roads have been built. After 10 years’ usage, damage of varying degrees has appeared, which not only had negative influences on road service greatly, but also decreased driving safety, driving comfort and traffic capacity. With the increasing requirements of landscape design, the combination of cement concrete pavement and traffic marking both in white color cannot produce the beauty of black- white color. Accepting the will of people, governors in Nanchang city decided to reconstruct and overlay cement concrete pavement with asphalt.Combining practical experiences in cement concrete pavement reconstruction in China, this article introduces and analyzes the following procedure of it: detection and evaluation of the old cement concrete pavement, damage management before overlays, prevention of refection cracks, overlays structure and material design, and so on. In addition, this article concludes experiences and lessons of cement concrete pavement reconstruction at home and abroad, and also experiences of three roads changing cement concrete pavement into asphalt pavement. They are Hongguzhong Road and Fenghezhong Road in Honggutan New District and Jinsha 2nd Road in Xiaolan Economic Development Zone.At last, by absorbing domestic and overseas experience in cement concrete pavement reconstruction, this study integrated theory with practice, and also provides research conclusions and questions remains to be solved. What’s more, this study also offers some references on cement concrete pavement construction in Nanchang city in the future.
