Recently, with the expansion of cities and the improvement of the urban infrastructure, the roads, as a city’s aorta, is faced with lots of projects of building, rebuilding and expansion. As the asphalt road has the characteristics of flat surface, comfortable driving, wear-resisting, low noise, simple maintenance and so on, more and more asphalt roads are used in our cities. The construction environment and construction conditions of city’s asphalt road are worse than the highway, and its quality control standard is not strict, which leads to the urban asphalt pavement construction quality is low, in this case, the urban asphalt pavement can’t meet the needs of rapid development, therefore, it is necessary to propose control measures for the urban asphalt pavement construction quality to improve the pavement quality.Based on the summary of the characteristics of the urban asphalt pavement, the article analyses the master control program of the asphalt pavement quality, meanwhile, it explores the influence factors for each evaluation index of co mpaction degree, thickness and flatness. Eventually, the research founds out that each evaluation index is affected by many factors and each factor affects several evaluation indexs.In this way, based on the construction and considering the whole construction process, the article explores the construction quality control methods from three aspects of construction preparation, during control and later construction inspection. After combining the theoretical analysis with construction experience, it puts forward three control conditions: effective compaction time, joint way and heat preservation measures.Furtherly, in order to obtain the influence degree of evaluation indexs which are corresponding to the contrast conditions, the article designs test plan on the basis of construction site investigation. The experimental result shows:(1) when the effective compaction time is 35 min, the thickness of lanes is close to the design value of 5cm, when the effective compaction time is 25 min, the thickness of non- motor vehicle lanes is close to the design value of 4cm.(2) The flatness obtained by cold joint construction method is easy to exceed the standard of 1.5mm, meanwhile, the flatness of different locations has big fluctuation, while the flatness obtained by hot joint way can meet the requirement of the specifications and has small fluctuation. Considering the complex process of hot joint way, the article proposes urban expressway and arterial road to adopt the hot joint way.(3) The compaction degree obtained by the method of a lorry covered by single-layer tarpaulin is uniform and the lives of different locations are the same, meanwhile, the compaction degree obtained by the method of a lorry covered by double tarpaulin is high and is hard to be damaged by cars. While some compaction degree obtained by the method of a lorry covered by single- layer tarpaulin are lower than the requirement of 95%, in this way, it is considered that the method of a lorry covered by double tarpaulin is better.
