| Qinghai province is so large that regional differences in natural conditions, technical level, the material sources and economic conditions of every regiondiffer from each other. The specification is difficult to coverevery differenceand follows of relatively conservativeprinciple.So only according to the principle of the norm, the disjunction between theory and practice may leads to defects in the pavement structure designing. What’s more, the typical structure of asphalt pavement design can be a very good combination of local actual situation, puts forward reasonable pavement structure, material and thickness, improves the service life of the asphalt pavement.This paper finds out the diseases of asphalt pavement and its proportion by means of investigating the asphalt pavement conditions of highways in Qinghai province, and analysis the root causes to damages of asphalt pavement, as well as puts forward the prevention and controlling measures.On the basis of traffic fiow data from 2002 to 2013 in seven continuous observations, the traffic volume level of Qinghai provincewas devided with the cumulative equivalent shaft as the main index. It has accomplished the subgrade strength grade division with the aid of research reports and the sensitivity ananlysis of the subgrade thickness changes to the changes of subgrade modulus.The paper proposed the pavement performance indicators of the common asphalt mixtures in Qing hai province from the perspective of water damage resistance, low temperature crack resistance and high temperature stability. It recommended the material design parameters for the typical structure of asphalt pavement through the compressive resilient modulustest and tensile splitting strength test for substrate and subgrade.In view of the geographical and climate characteristics of three natural areas(Qilian Mountain, Qaidam basin, Southern plateau)in Qinghai province and on the basis of related research, this paper achieved the asphalt pavement structure optimization in Qing hai province and recommended the typical structure of asphalt pavement fitting with different levels of traffic volume and areas, which can be the reference for highway designing in various areas of Qing hai province. |
