Shaanxi province has a vast expanse of territory. Differences in each region's climate is obvious, but are not the same axle load distribution, and these influence of the pavement structure can not be ignored. At the present time, although the pavement structures of highway differ from one place to another in Shaanxi, there's no systematic research on Shaanxi typical pavement structure. What's more, the present asphalt pavement design criterion doesn't take district and climate into consideration, so that the pavement structure in certain areas exists the blemish. Therefore, it is very necessary and to raise the question of Shaanxi typical pavement structure.This paper analyzes the cause of highway pavement surface disease of Shaanxi province based on an in-depth study and proposes some corresponding control measures to rationalize the building of typical pavement structure of asphalt concrete. The author gets the axle type spectrum and axle load spectrum of different areas by collecting and analyzing the data of vehicle flow of a toll station, then comparing traditional vehicle conversion and axle load conversion and giving the applicable condition of these two methods with the consideration of over loading. This paper also definite the scope of accumulative equivalent axle times and ranking traffic, according to traffic capacity budget of certain section of a highway. After that, the author researches and ranks the property and scope of roadbed strength. Finally, analyzing and recommending Shaanxi typical highway asphalt pavement structure on the basis of engineering practice of Shaanxi province, traffic ranking, roadbed strength ranking, designing principle and standard of pavement structure combination, and parametric of recommended pavement materials.
