Electric drive, mechanical drive, mechanic-electric drive are the main drive ways of large mining equipment. The large mining equipment’s hydraulic drive system requires Hundreds of thousands even thousands of thousands’ driving force, but the greatest driving force the low speed and big torque motor can provide now is only tens of thousands. This makes its hydraulic drive system need large numbers of hydraulic motors, and must after speed reduction and torque increasing can meet its requirements. And this will make the hydraulic drive system very complicated. So, designing a hydraulic actuator can provide more than one hundred thousand’s driving force is particularly important.It designs a new kind of hydraulic rotary actuator, which has the capability of providing large torque, and analyses its operating principle. According to the given design parameters, it provides the actuator’s structure drawing, and analyses the key parts’ structure strength by using the solidworks simulation; It determines the actuator’s leaking surface and calculates actuator’s theory of leakage in a simple way. It also analyses the factors influencing the actuator’s leakage and determines the key position’s sealing structure. It analyses the actuator’s process of continuous operation and steering switch,and according to the blade’s angle, determines the actuator’s oil outlets and partitions’ action sequence in the process of actuator’s operation. On the basis of contrast analysis of actuator’s oil outlets and partitions’ state in the actuator’s positive and reverse process, it determines the oil outlets and partitions’ action at different steering moment. It puts forward the idea of element group and according to a type of large mining equipment’s requirements of speed and driving force, it determines the element group’s basic parameters.
