As temporary supporting structure for construction of manual hole digging pile to ensure the safety of construction personnel, segmented retaining wall do not consider the sharing effect of the horizontal load on the retaining wall in engineering design,the existing design code did not consider its contribution to horizontal bearing capacity of the pile body at the same time.To study the interaction law of manual hole digging pile between segmented retaining wall and pile body under horizontal load,and the contribution of horizontal bearing capacity,the physical model test of 1:10 and numerical simulation experiment based on ANSYS was carried out in this paper,the results as followed:(1) Numerical simulation experiment show:the horizontal stress before the retaining wall pile is smaller than the pile without retaining wall under the same horizontal load, and with the increase of the size of the retaining wall, the maximum horizontal stress of the soil before the pile decreases gradually, the results showed significant effect that the retaining wall reduces the horizontal stress of the soil before the pile; physical model test show:the Soil pressure before the retaining wall pile is bigger than the pile without retaining wall under the same horizontal displacement of the pile top, The results showed that the retaining wall increases contact area of the pile soil, as a result,the horizontal resistance increases before the pile.(2) Numerical simulation experiment show:the vertical stress of tension side and compression side on pile body is smaller than the pile without retaining wall under the same horizontal load,and with the increase of the size of the retaining wall,the maximum vertical stress of the tension side and compression side on pile body decreases gradually;physical model test show:the steel strain of tension side on the retaining wall pile body is bigger than the steel strain of tension side without retaining wall under the same horizontal displacement of the pile top,The results showed that the retaining wall has a sharing effect of the horizontal load of pile body,it can improve the horizontal bearing capacity level of the pile body.(3) Using the calculation formula presented in this paper, the result of pile body contribution to horizontal bearing capacity is very close to the physical model test,numerical simulation and the results of the experiment, can reach about 20%. This formula has some reference value to pile foundation design and engineering practice.
