Since 1982,the State Council has announced a total of 126 national historical and cultural cities. With the improvement of economic development and high-speed urban construction,people’s material living standards are improving and urban landscape is changing, the protection of historical and cultural city is unsatisfactory. This article discusses the protection of historical and cultural city from urban historical environmental. The historical environment is to connect physical heritage and intangible cultural heritage,pay more attention to the environment of the historical and cultural relics. For historical and cultural city,the integrity and authenticity of the urban historical environment is particularly important.Taking as an example Anyang,by studying the history of the old city of Anyang environmental change,protection and development of the historical old town of Anyang. The urbanization in Anyang is faster and faster,a large-scale redevelopment pose a threat to the original historic old city of Anyang,the urban historical environmental in old city Anyang and the increasingly economic development has a strong contradiction. Currently protection of historical and cultural city has varying degrees of misunderstanding.to protect the historical and cultural city by the historic environment is the research direction of this paper,the purpose is to make the traditional historic character and the city’s historical and cultural city characteristic can be passed.First of all,proposed the research background,urban development and the protection of historical and cultural city currently is not optimistic. Second,analyze the course of city’s historic environment at home and abroad,then expounded the theory of the city’s historic environment and the protection of historical and cultural city. Based on the research of old city of Anyang,disseminate information on the memory of the city’s questionnaire,analyze the existing problems in the old town of Anyang,put forward feasible proposal. Finally,through a series of analysis and summary,from the historical environmental protection, put forward countermeasures for the protection of historical and cultural city.
