Study On Positive Utilization Of Riverbank Interface Of Dongfeng River In Zhengzhou

Riverbank interface is an important part of riverfront space. As the transition region between the city and the river, riverbank interface constitutes the important public open space, providing precious recreational space, hydrophilic space and public green area,creating the features of the city. However,with the rapid urbanization, a large number of development and construction gradually spread to the riverfront space. Blindly development and renovation caused serious damage to riverbank interface’s characteristics of morphology, ecology, culture, mentality, leading to a negative phenomenon. In this paper, based on a lot of research and analysis of urban riverbank interface, the author made a systematic study on positive utilization of riverbank interface of Dongfeng River in Zhengzhou, mainly includes the following aspects:Firstly, the paper defined the concept and analyzed the evolution features and constituent elements of riverbank interface. And then discussed the space pattern types of riverbank interface in details, including compact pattern, discrete pattern and blending pattern.Secondly, four utilization levels of riverbank interface were put forwarded, which were morphology level, ecology level, culture level and mentality level, respectively. Under the theories of urban ecology, restoration ecology, landscape aesthetics and environmental psychology, the paper discussed the utilization content and significance of riverbank interface in different levels. And various cases in China and aboard were studied for worthwhile theories and methods.Thirdly, the paper analyses the elements, space pattern types and the utilization situations and existing problems of the riverbank interface of Dongfeng River in Zhengzhou. Then integrating theory with practice research,the paper put forward a series methods for positive utilization,as follows: 1) Utilize the multi-level morphology of the interface; 2) Strengthen the ecological security maintenance of the interface; 3) Deepen the cultural expression in the interface; 4) Improve the space sprint and function of the interface.The study could promote the positive utilization of the riverbank interface of Dongfeng River on four levels and have certain guiding significance for the study of riverfront space and other related aspects.
