Airportsurface movement radar is an important part of air traffic control system for monitoring airport surface moving targets and static targets. The system can effectively control the traffic operation of the airport surface, which play an important role in airport security management and efficient operation. Radar signal processing isa key part of the SMR, it determines the performance of the airport radar detect ground targets, especially in the complex clutter environments of the airport.Researching signal processing technology, improving detection efficiency and changingthe design of signal processingare very important to the entire radar system. In addition, with the rapid development of microelectronics technology, and the extensive application of DSP, FPGA technology, signal processing gradually from analog into digitalto meet the high speed requirementof signal processing. For surface movement radar, only to ensure the timeliness of information, can we ensure the safety of the airport scene.Aircraft, automobiles, etc, are the goals of airport surface surveillance radar, which belong to moving targets.Single moving target detection technology and static target detection technology cannot effectively monitor the airport surface targets. Sothis thesis used a moving target detection technology and implemented in hardware.The main content of the thesis is Research and implementation ofSMR signal processing, and the thesis is divided into three main research areas:First, Research scene surveillance radar signal processing technology, including Chirp signal pulse compression, MTI, AMTI, MTD, clutter map CFAR,frequency diversity, secondary detection. This thesis elaborates the principles and implementation of various parts, and simulation of each module through usingMatlab and Modelsim tools.Second, According to the application environment of SMR, design the radar transmitter waveform and signal processing scheme, and explain the structure of each module processing in detail.Third, ImplementSMR signal processing on FPGA.By using the Altera’s Stratix V FPGA chip 5SGSMD5K2F40I3 N, which constitute the main processing chip signal processing board,and Combining VHDL language andIP core,complete the implementation of SMR signal processing.In this thesis, the author studied the theory of surface surveillance radar signal processing, and improved the signal processing solutions depending on the circumstances, and eventually realizedthe technology in hardware. The project has a certain engineering significance.
