Axis has a very ancient history and origins, axis as the traditional classical composition rule in human history occupies an unparalleled position. In the history of landscape, both natural landscape of Chinese classical gardens and the modern formal garden in the West were able to explore the use of axis design marks. Axis as a basic method of spatial schema, is widely used in today’s landscape, many classical layout of garden design and architecture is accomplished by relying on the axis.Paper from analysis gardens design in the of axis origin for point, through literature review, case studies, analysis, summarized way, explains the concept of the axis, and by further exploring its theories, such as:Landscape Design, Construction, and so on, thereby forming systems theory framework; On this basis, to research and research had of rich of actual case for guide, in-depth discussion has axis of design type (can by number, and perception, and form, different angle to divided), and design elements, and design law (including symmetric law and variation law), and design ideas and graphics evolution of process, show has flexible using axis for gardens landscape design of rich means, for its injected fresh of blood. Finally, the author analysis and summary of the garden axis design techniques to guide practice and participate in practical projects to demonstrate the validity, in order to make the abstract design is more practical.Through a comprehensive and in-depth study on the summary axis system theory in landscape design, and rich designs illustrated on its citations, full range of improved and enriched the garden axis design theory, enabling it to face the demands of the modern garden design, into today’s diverse society, so as to better guide the practice of landscape design.
