The Historical Evolution Of Longjing Temple In Hangzhou And The Evolution Of Landscape Space Structure

Temple gardens are one of the most important types of classical gardens in China.During the Southern Song Dynasty,the temple gardens in Hangzhou flourished,and the temples around the West Lake gathered monks and pilgrims.Many temples were destroyed by fire in the Yuan Dynasty.It is also a regrettable fact.After the authorundefineds previous investigation of the historical gardens in Hangzhou,it was concluded that there had been more than 2000 temples and gardens in Hangzhou,most of which had disappeared with history,and some of the existing ones were still intact.In these temples,the author selected Longjing Yan Yan Qing Temple(commonly known as Longjing Temple)on Fenghuang Ridge to do the research.Based on the historical evolution of Longjing Temple in Hangzhou and the evolution of its landscape space,this paper first introduces the concept of temple garden and temple garden spatial structure.The text is divided into three parts to analyze and demonstrate the spatial characteristics and evolution of the garden space of Longjing Temple.The first part is the historical evolution of Longjing Temple and the spatial structure of each period,in the case of collecting sufficient text and picture data,the garden space of Longjing Temple is restored.The second part is to summarize the comparison of the garden space of Longjing Temple in each period.Mainly from the spatial layout and function of the changes,including the natural landscape space form,landscape boundary changes,architectural spatial layout changes;the third part is the conclusion of the Longjing Temple garden space evolution experience and significance,It includes the influence of natural landscape structure on mountain temple garden,the relationship between the change of garden space and the change of function,and the enlightenment to the development of temple garden from the study of landscape space evolution of Longjing Temple.It is hoped that the analysis of the evolution of the garden space of Longjing Temple in this paper will have some enlightenment on the future development of the temple garden in the mountain area,and can better improve the space of the temple garden and carry forward its own culture.
