The pneumatic manoeuvring system as an actuator of main engine remote control system, is an important part to realize main engine automatic control. The pneumatic manoeuvring system is a complicated structure and contains a lot of valves, which makes it difficult and important for the marine management. The troubleshoo-ting of main engine pneumatic manoeuvring system cannot be accomplished in a short term, which may cause diesel engine damage, ship collision and grounding and other major accidents. Therefore strengthening crew training on the pneumatic manoeuvring system and ensuring the safety of ship navigation are of great importance. Existing marine engine simulator is widely adopted by MAN MC main engine pneumatic manoeuvring system, The report of Wartsila RTA main engine pneumatic manoeuvring system is less. The existing marine engine simulator can’t training of RTA main engine pneumatic manoeuvring system.In conclusion, this article developed the RTA main engine pneumatic manoeuvring system simulation system, in order to realize the RTA main engine pneumatic manoeuvring system of training and education, as an important supplement of the existing marine simulator. This paper mainly studied the following three aspects:First of all, according to the function and characteristics of the RTA48-B and RTA96C-B main engine pneumatic manoeuvring system, this article has setted up two mathematical models of the two pneumatic manoeuvring systems, all mathematical model of components contain the normal situation and fault situation. Depending on the function of the pneumatic components, different control units have been divided, and the mathematical models of each control unit have been established.Secondly, utilize Visual C++program development tools, the calculating program of the mathematical model has been completed and visualization simulation interfaces of RTA48T-B and RTA96C-B pneumatic manoeuvring system have been designed. Under normal and fault conditions, simulation experiments have been carried out to verify the simulation system. The result shows that the simulation system has the same response of the real ship.Thirdly, the pneumatic manoeuvring simulation system has been put into DMS-2015 marine engine simulator platform, and realized the 2D interface and 3D virtual reality system synchronization; Through instance test of the intelligent test system, the pneumatic manoeuvring simulation system has achieved the expected effect.
