With the rapid development of Chinese industry, Chinese nuclear power level is gradually caught up with the level of other nuclear countries. In the country’s nuclear power plants which have been put into operation, the second loop condensate polishing systems for its handling large amount of water, high quality requirements of the treated water, water quality does not meet the emission control targets of the steam generator water and so on, became the difficulty of the Second Circuit of nuclear power plant water chemistry control. To alleviate these problems, research topic of this article is mainly to accommodate large-capacity nuclear power plant condensate polishing systems for operation and regeneration switch configuration requirements, making the large diameter ion exchange equipment in medium pressure which need to be imported localization, forming a domestic patent products with independent intellectual property in order to reduce investment in nuclear power plants as well as the purpose of improving the social and economic benefits.The Fluent software is used in this paper to analyze the flow field of DN3600 condensate polishing ion exchange equipment; a mathematical model of the inlet device is built; the uniformity of 20 different kinds of inlet device have been compared; the best inlet configuration has been chosen; and the uniformity of water distribution and pressure drop have been compared with conventional inlet devices. The analysis by the Fluent, not only can relatively accurately predict the overall performance of the condensate polishing ion exchange equipment, but also more easily identify defects of the equipment in the design and playing a very important role in the optimization of condensate polishing ion exchange equipment.In this paper the prototype of the condensate polishing equipment ion exchange properties is verified. According to the optimum configuration mode which based on the simulation results, the prototype of condensate polishing ion exchange equipment in DN3600 has been manufactured by 1: 1 and been field tested. During the test the resin layer in the ion exchange devices was running smoothly, the inlet water device runs uniformity. At the end of the test, we get a flat resin layer. The results of prototype testing are consistent with the numerical simulation results. The rationality and feasibility of the configuration mode have been proved.
