Since the 21 st century, with economic growth and urbanization accelerated, urban electricity load has risen.Although,in the recent years, investment in power grid construction is increasing, but still cannot fully meet the needs of the city’s rapid economic growth, one of more prominent issues is urban land resources becoming tighter. The retention and implementation of substation sites and line corridor is more and more difficult which has become an important factor restricting the development of urban power grid. Thus, the use of underground space become a new way of urban power grid development.This paper first introduces the development status and the trend of power grid into the ground at home and abroad.It also analyze the defects and proble ms.Then this paper describes the design concepts and introduces the concepts a nd application of underground power grid design and planning and cited the u nderground grid design emphasis and difficulty. This paper is focus on these pr oblems including that in the complex underground environment, how plan and design ground grid in a complex urban environment underground, how to con duct underground pipe network design, and how to structure the underground g rid.Eventually based on TG City as an example designs the underground power grid and has carried on the modeling,analysis,and evaluation by using the GAHP.The method is fully consider the various factors.The paper comprehensively evaluates city power grid and determines the priorities of reform.This offers the reliable basis for the final decision of the project.The instance show the feasibility,practicability and science by the design method and design.
