With the rapid development of country’s urban rail transit, the corresponding service system of the rail transit also should be constantly improved and progressed. However, the country mainly concentrates on the basic construction of urban rail transit and is lack of the emphasis on the systematic research and construction outside the hub of rail transit at present. This affects the overall functionality and efficiency of rail transit hub in large. Scientific and perfect system of oriented sign outside the hub can largely reduce time and distance which passengers find the station, thus it can improve passenger’s travel efficiency and whole hub’s operational efficiency. Therefore, the passage conducts research about the system of oriented sign outside the hub of rail transit, and expects to propose a series of standards and designed methods which adapt to our country’s system of oriented sign outside the hub of rail transit.At first, on the basis of the research which experts and scholars at home and abroad have done about the system outside the hub of rail transit. And concluding several aspects needed to be concerned when studing the signage system. Such as : passenger flow’s characteristics of hub, passengers’ wayfinding behavior, design content of oriented sign, design position of equipment.Then, according to the existing study’s results, conducting critical analysis about passenger flow’s characteristics of hub, including generated scope of passenger flow, consistence of passenger flow, stride and pace, the relationship of wayfinding behavior and signage. After that, introducing the oriented signage’s definition, classification, quality, function etc and using the method named TOPSIS under the base. In combination with relatively intact rail transit system’ s current situation which has occurred in many cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou etc, and doing some investigation, analysising and evaluation in order to ensure the urban rail transit passengers’ degree of satisfaction about the signage and norms of oriented signs applying to rail transit passengers. Then it’s so critical to study the option about situation of oriented sign’s system outside the hub of rail transit and establishing oriented sign situation’s selected model aiming at guiding the traffic to reach maximization. Choosing PSO to solve the model and validate the model’s effectiveness with software named Anylogic.In the case study section, This paper selected Dalian Dalian Fast Line Station and describes the current situation and deficiencies. Applying the established model and adding the necessary constrains in order to figure out signage’s position in the area influenced by Dalian Station.
