Research On Passenger Guiding Sign System Of Urban Rail Transit

Guidence marking system of rail transit is an important part in the rail transit station’s modern operations and management. It is also an effective measure to organize the passenger flow. While the station construction mainly focus on the main body and overlook the guidence marking system so as to can not fully utilizing station’s collector-distributor function. A perfect guidence marking system will reduce the passenger detention time as less as possible in the station and increase the efficiency of the station operations and management. So this paper research on the design method of guidence marking system.Based on the existing research, this paper summarize the concept of guidence marking system, classification, function, design elements and setting method of Signs. Further, this paper research on the design influence factors of guidence marking system from station inner space and passengers, including layout and traffic stream line of station inner space and crowd characteristics, individual characteristics and information requirements of passengers. After researching and analyzing the H.K. guidence marking system of rail transit in depth, we propose to set signs by taking station function space, streamline organization and single streamline into account. Also we propose a designning method of guidence marking system and apply to Shenzhen rail transit. We find the existing problems and give suggestions from both the signs’ visual patterns and setting space, to increase operation and management efficiency of rail transit.
