High voltage switchgear cabinet is an important distribution equipment in power system, and it is the key to ensure reliability of power supply terminal customers. If the equipment does not work, it will directly result in power outage. At present, in view of the operation of the high voltage switchgear cabinet relies too much on test of power-off maintenance. It can’t find equipment hidden danger timely and effectively. Moreover, technology for live detection is less involved in evaluating equipment health status. Therefore, it is necessary to study test of power-off maintenance and technology for live detection deeply for revealing the important role that the latter playing in maintenance of high voltage switchgear cabinet. Through the technology for live detection the costs of equipment operational are reduced and the reliability of power supply is improved.Firstly, the theory of technology for live detection and on-line monitoring is analyzed and researched. These analysis and research confirm the point and laid the theoretical basis of this thesis. Secondly, the practical application of technology for live detection in partial discharge detection of high voltage switchgear cabinet is introduced with combining the health status evaluation and maintenance of high voltage switchgear cabinet. The analytical method of live detection data is expounded and the announcements is summarized. The typical cases of live detection is analyzed deeply with the rich practical maintenance experience of high voltage switchgear cabinet. Finally, the preventive test of power-off maintenance and technology for live detection of high voltage switchgear cabinet is analyzed and researched contrastively. Besides, the advantages and disadvantages of them is introduced with expounding the preventive test of power-off maintenance and technology for live detection. In which the highlights is the disadvantages of preventive test of power-off maintenance and the advantages of technology for live detection. Then, the practical situation of these two maintenance modes solving various key parts failure problems of high voltage switchgear cabinet is analyzed.
