The electrical power system is an essential component of a country’s economy and the entire energy system as well, and exists and develops in order to meed users’ need of electricity. Of the electrical system, the power distribution network is of paramount importance as it communicates directly with its users. For power suppliers, scientifically distributing power to meet users’ need is a means that is both cost-efficient and reliable. The planning of distribution network consists of electrical load forecast, power supply planning, and power network planning which is premised on the first two components to guarantee carrying capacity and to optimize planning costs while meeting technical requirements.Presently, the power distribution network in Beijing discords with the city’s development, and the load forecast and electrical calculation accuracy are also out of line with the distribution network and the main power grid construction. This article, in combination with meticulous urban planning solutions, scientifically regionalizes Beijing’s power distribution network and, by way of gridding, accurately forecasts regional power needs. Based on these two methods, the article then proposes regionalized distribution planning and inter-regional network communication perfecting solution, two alternatives aiming to develop regional power loads and at the same time guarantee power supply reliability.Set in Chaoyang District in Beijing, the experiment in this article partitions the distribution network into grids and accurately forecasts regional power loads according to the overall power load in the District, and then carries out distribution network planning that will provide concrete reference for the distribution network planning in other districts of Beijing. This grid management method is believed to further make the power distribution planning more scientific.
