With the rapid development of the national economy, the requirement of electric supply has been increasing fast. Electric power industry has been considerablely developed. This requires power plants to keep long-term stabilized running, which raises new demands to milling system.Mill is the key equipment of the plant milling system. This paper describes different types of mill’s and it’s characteristics in power plant, and takes the most widely used medium speed roller mill as an example to analyze their wear. According to the experiments and literatures, the wear mechanism about the mill and the wear factors in the actual operation have been summarized.The commonly used wear repair materials are tungsten carbide and high chromium cast iron cored, and the commonly used wear repair processes are surfacing and laser cladding. This paper also comparatively analysis the advantages and disadvantages about these wear repair materials and processes. And based on the requirement of equipment supervision, a new working process is proposed of a new wear repair material—ceramic-metal composites. Three sets of mill roller are made by ceramic metal composite materials are presented, which are installed and used for abrasionproof transformation on a coal mill. Due to the complexity of the project, the equipment supervision is established. Meanwhile, the main principle of supervision outlines and detailed rules are compiled. The experiment, aiming at the analysis on possible negative factors in project, adopts three stages quality control measure in terms of the quality of project implementation by using active control method.In the meantime, the whole process of project is managed from various aspects like design supervision, construction suervision, installation supervision and so on. Therefore, the exterior negative factors which have impact on grinder roller wear governance are eliminated. Experimental results and actual field operation experiences show that using ceramic-metal composites to repair worn have significant effect, the continuous running time of mill has increased considerably, and the repair effect is satisfactory.
