With the progress of science and technology, intelligent substation has become the world each country grid division of the main direction of development and research, and gradually replaced the conventional substation in the position in national economy. In order to realize the smart grid development and progress, first of all to conventional substation carried on the thorough analysis and research, this article is based on IEC61850 standard 220kV conventional substation reformation.The current electric power industry, the IEC61850 standard is relatively advanced, mainly for the traditional substation in the problems in the reform.This topic first analyzed the technology of intelligent substation, by analyzing the characteristics of conventional substation, this paper introduces the structure and characteristics of intelligent substation, etc. conventional substation reconstruction were proposed in the paper. Then this paper introduces the intelligent substation information integration platform system and its role in conventional substation reformation; Followed by the analysis of advanced application of intelligent substation and the reconstruction of the transformer substation safe hidden trouble in the process of the problems for processing.Based on IEC61850 standard, according to the relevant authorities to put forward the transformation principle of conventional substation, puts forward a 220 kV substation in Beijing fengtai an intelligent equipment retrofit scheme based on the standard, mainly including intelligent transformer, circuit breaker intelligent transformation and reconstruction of lightning arrester of intelligent and related network layer.
