Highway engineering have the characteristic of long construction period, complex and changing on environment, affected by many factors, make highway construction cost a high uncertainly. For a long time, researchers have been done a lot of researches on the different view about the factors affecting the cost, has achieved many results, but still insufficient.Absorbing previous study of the influence factors of highway engineering construction cost, and settling the existing engineering cost system and the technical specification document, I have developed the indicator system of construction cost to highway projects based on technical indicators, it includes the basic construction situation, alignment indicators, roadbed and pavement indicators, bridge engineering indicators, tunnel engineering indicators, cross route engineering Indicators. Based on comprehensive experience expert opinion and principal component analysis method to determine the weight of each index, and eliminate weak weight index, formed a factors index system which is based on project technical specifications and can basically reflect the characteristics of the project cost, and make a quantitative analysis for all the major indexes. After analyzing the characteristics of highway engineering cost, we found highway engineering cost and plant growth have some similarities, and creatively introduce path analysis theory which is widely used in genetic to the study of analysis of the factors affecting the project cost. Application of path analysis theory for instance analysis and found that the impact of the construction cost of each indicator has a direct and indirect effect, and the consolidated results has different effects from the direct and indirect effects, it is not simply that two effects are added or subtracted, This fully demonstrated the complexity of effecting process.Through in-depth analysis of the construction example and developing the indicator system of construction cost, not only get the factors affecting the cost but also found that the role of the relationship between influencing factors and mechanism of action of the various indicators affecting the total project cost, so we have more purpose and operability to analysis mechanism of factors affecting the project cost, and make a strong foreshadowing for future further research; Also makes us have a clear understanding and more control ability to the economic comparison and selection of technical solutions; Also hopes it provide the main direction for the Administration department to quick check the proposed budget.
