The process of aerial torpedo parachute opening and into the water is a typical overload impact problem. The factor of impact load must be considered in the design and analysis of the airdrop torpedo. The special dynamic response of structural and function which will be emerged in the aerial torpedo’s internal functions and external shell structure, might make the problems that seriously affect the aerial torpedo’s overall performance such as internal parts dysfunction and external shell structure’s strength failure. There are two effective methods to analyze the overload problem during the process of aerial torpedo opening and hitting the water. The methods have important implications to design and control of aerial torpedo. One is the theoretical spin to impact phenomenon, the other is using the finite element analysis software to numerical simulation.The paper mainly studied impact dynamics problems which during the process of aerial torpedo parachute opening and into the water. Firstly, the history and research status of aerial torpedo parachute opening and into the water are outlined in this article. Secondly, The relevant overload shock theory, fluid-structure interaction theory and correspondence analysis method are introduced, which in order to establish the general method and solution process of the dynamic problem for torpedo into water. Then, the basic theory of numerical simulation on the LS_DYNA is introduced according to the applicability of software LS_DYNA on fluid structure coupling simulation and nonlinear dynamic analysis.In this article used LS_DYNA finite element software to analyze the dynamic response of aerial torpedo parachute opening, which to verify torpedo shell and hoop strength whether meets the design requirements. After that the impact analysis of airdrop torpedo into water was carried out. The process of airdrop torpedo into water is a complex fluid-structure interaction problems, so the study was divided into three parts. The first part was to verify the feasibility of the numerical simulation method and to discuss the problems that need to pay attention in the process of simulation. The second part was based on first part to seek the best entry point of torpedo after analyzed impact load under different water entry angle. At last, the model of torpedo into water at the best angle was established, and its dynamic response characteristics were analyzed. From the simulation results, the weak spots of the torpedo structure design were find. The design met the requirements through the analysis.Though the numerical simulation by LS_DYNA finite element analysis software, this paper completed impact dynamics response analysis at the moment of aerial torpedo parachute opening and into the water. The study provided certain reference and guidance for the design and control of torpedo.
