Railways as the country’s essential infrastructure, the main artery of national economy, popular mode of public transport, in the national economy plays a very important role. With the development of railway transportation in heavy loads and high speed, requirement for railway maintenance become stricter. With the development of mechanization of our country’s road maintenance machine, the large road maintenance machine is indispensable in new railway routes and seasonal railway maintenance. As the common equipment of railway maintenance, cleaning machine plays an important role in the development of our nation’s railway system. Therefore, the study of structure of cleaning machine has an important theoretic significance and a deep engineering application background.The RM80 full section ballast cleaning machine is manufactured by China Railway Large Maintenance Machinery CO in Kunming. It is commonly used in railway overhauls and seasonal maintenance. When the machine is in operation, first lifts track up by lifting device, then digs out polluted ballast by digging device and transports them to cleaning device, backfills the ballast into the railway after cleaning and finally lay track down and carry dust away. The machine can keep railway clean and safety.After research on the structure and operation procedure of RM 80 full section ballast cleaning machine, the static and dynamic analysis of the machine’s frame and the problems in engineer application were developed. The 3-D model of railway and frame is assembled by 3-D modeling software and finite element analysis software. The static and dynamic analysis of track and frame is made based on finite element theory and modern computer technology. In the static analysis, the maximum lifting force and maximum height of different material is obtained by analyzing track in lifting operation. The disposition of stress and strain of frame in lifting operation is got based on the data above. Stress concentration which is caused by loading in the connection of two carlings in the middle of frame, the maximum stress is 89.3MPa. In dynamic analysis, the implicit frequency and vibration type of frame are obtained by modal analysis in free constraints. The vibration types are compared and researched. The appraisal of frame performance is put forward. It also presents the general control method of frame vibration.The research achievement of this paper not only lay certain foundation for the further theory study and performance analysis of the machine’s frame, but also could be used as reference for researches of other similar machine systems.
