With the high-speed railway rapidly developing all over the world, communication systems on the railway demand higher validity and reliability. LTE system as the latest mobile communication system has greater throughput and higher spectrum efficiency, and it can not only ensure high-speed railway safety requirements, but also meet the needs of a variety of new services. LTE technology is already commercially available in China, but as the next generation of railway mobile communication network, the LTE-R technology is still in the research stage.Since the high-speed railway channel is complex and changeable, and the radio channel is the basis of the performance research in communication system, so reasonable channel simulation methods and high-speed rail with the actual channel model is particularly important. Regardless of the radio channel or the performance of LTE-R communication system requires specific testing methods, if the radio channel and the LTE test system are combined in high-speed rail environment, we can then study its properties. This paper relies on "Rail Control System Engineering Research Center to establish high-speed railway broadband wireless network simulation and testing platform," project of Railway Company, aimed to study the radio channel simulation method and the performance of LTE system.The main work is as follows:1. Build a high-speed railway environment LTE test platform. It describes the selection of test instruments and the way to configure laboratory test environment, analyze the block diagram and operation principle of the test platform, and describes the functions of the test system.2. Study of high-speed railway radio channel simulation environment. The paper analyzes the similarity between WINNER Ⅱ Channel Model and high-speed railway channel. Introduce wireless channel simulation parameters required for the model, then test and analyze the effects of various parameters to the radio channel emulation environment.3. Performance under high-speed railway environment in LTE systems are tested and analyzed. We tested from the physical layer and link layer index, the test involves influencing factors just like different speeds, different field coverage and other types in a radio channel. We analyze the influence of the various indicators of LTE-R system, and thus come to the preliminary conclusion.Results of this study can be used as reference of LTE-R system channel simulation and its performance test. It can also provide data to support research for the future performance of LTE system in high-speed railway.
