Urban rail transit is the largest construction in the history of urban construction of public infrastructure. It has a profound impact on the overall situation and development pattern of city. With the rapid development of city rail transportation, the business that supporting its safe operation is increasing. And the existing communication system of urban rail transit train ground communication has meet some challenges. The subway needs a reliable signal transmission system to ensure the train can run safely. Besides, the control center need to ensure they can see the train car video in real time and it should have the ability which can inform some important video or text to the passagers when emergency happens. LTE is an advanced mobile communication system. It has the characteristics of high bandwidth, high mobility, long interval coverage and high scalability. It can meet the demands of urban rail transit vehicle communication service well. This paper demonstrates that the application of LTE in Metro communication is not only with superiority and feasibility, but aslo has some advantages on economic. Then, based on what has discussed, it gives an introduction about LTE-M network.LTE-M communication system is a complex system. Good monitoring has important significance to upgrade and optimize the troubleshooting processing and subsequent operation of the system. In the paper, we designed a monitoring software for LTE-M system. The purpose of the software is to monitor the train-ground communication process. It can help people analyse how different services affect each other and guide real peoject construction, daily operation and crash recovery.
