However, in our country, BIM technology is mainly applied in the design stage. So researching construction companies using BIM technology to do fine management is particularly important.Based on the status quo above, this paper first expounds the basic theory of BIM technology:the concept, characteristics and the engineering significance of BIM technology, the positioning of BIM technology in the construction industry. At the same time through compared CAD technology with BIM technology, the paper highlights the advantages of BIM technology, and it introduces the implementation means of BIM technology-the Revit software. Secondly, the paper analyzes the application of BIM technology in every stage of the construction project, and studies the facing problems of applying BIM technology in our country, and it also analyzes the necessity of developing BIM technology. Thirdly, with the fortune center project in Guangzhou as a case, the paper makes a concrete analysis about the BIM technology application for construction companies. It studies the influences that the BIM technology makes on the project quality, time limit for project, cost, and construction safety in the aspect of the optimization of construction site layout,3D visualization, drawing review and collision detection, quantity statistics, and comprehensive line arrangement. It affirms the value of BIM technology. Finally, the paper summarizes the research achievements and puts forward suggestions about BIM technology application for construction companies.The application of BIM technology in the fortune center project saves construction cost, shortens the construction progress, ensures the construction safety and improves the construction quality. The paper provides a train of thought and process for construction companies using BIM technology to do fine management of construction, and has certain practical value and practical significance.
