With the rapid development of automobile industry, people have become increasingly demanding on automobile driving performance. As the main carrying parts of the truck, most of the parts and assemblies are to fix the position through the frame,at the same time, the frame also carried on the outside of the influence of various loads. Thus the frame structure plays a very important role in truck design, the frame performance will have a direct impact on vehicle performance. Through rapid development of computer science and technology related to truck design and optimization has brought new changes, using the finite element method to analyze the performance of the frame structure and combined with the analysis results to optimize the parameters of the frame it has important practical significance to achieve the light weight design and improve the truck performance. In this thesis, mainly based on the finite element analysis theory,by the Hyper Works software, the finite element model of the flame was analyzed. The major research contents are as follows:(1)According to the frame in bending condition, torsion condition, emergency braking condition and set the corresponding loads and boundary conditions, the static characteristics of the frame structure was analyzed. Based the von stress and displacement distribution of the frame under different conditions, we found out the position of the maximum von stress and maximum displacement in different conditions.(2)The dynamic characteristics of the frame structure was analyzed. The free modal analysis was analyzed, the first eight natural frequencies and mode shapes of vibration were obtained. Verified the credibility of the finite element model and avoided the resonance which caused by external excitation frequency.(3)Combination of the foregoing analysis,we can conclude that the stress distribution non-uniform, the material utilization is not high, therefore, the use of variable density method to have the topology optimization design for the frame. It provides a theoretical basis and reference for lightweight frame design.
