With the rapid development of economy, China’s power network gradually forms a modern interconnected power network of large-scale, cross-regional, and multi-ring network, of which distribution network plays a vital role in distributing electricity. It is becoming an increasingly serious question that the rapid increase of resident power consumption and different forms of household electrical appliances lowers terminal voltage of rural electric circuit, which brings great challenges to the quality of the power supply enterprise service. The traditional way to solve the low voltage is reactive power compensation. To solve the problem of the low voltage at the end of line and unbalanced three-phase load, the traditional low voltage reactive power compensation device was widely used, which was installed on the match head end with central power compensation strategy, unable to solve various problems that exist in the low voltage circuit.Taking Laiyuan low voltage lines provided by Laiyuan power company as the research object, on the basis of a large number of research and related information, firstly low voltage issue of distribution network was analyzed and basic theory such as the present status of power system reactive power compensation was discussed, pointing out the rural power grid 10 kV level site and 0.4 kV site still need to strengthen the space truss structure and equipment to solve problems such as excessive voltage instability and voltage drop. Then this paper put forward the low voltage phase voltage optimization methods, after which benefit analysis using horizontal and longitudinal methods were carried out. Finally establish comprehensive benefit evaluation index system, fuzzy analytic hierarchy process(AHP) is used to evaluate the comprehensive benefit. The evaluation results show that the device of the indicators are to meet the requirements, the benefit evaluation of the whole project results very well, so that Laiyuan low-voltage reactive power compensation project is successful, not only to achieve the anticipated goal and economic benefits, but also to promote the Laiyuan area economic development.
