The construction of the highway is rapid development and the traffic mileage is soaring recently in our country. But the intelligent management of facilities are lag,which will cause the traffic congestion and the accident become common phenomenon, sometimes the “second accident” maybe happened. All the above will lead to a major damage for people.So the thesis aimed at the current situation of traffic congestion and frequent traffic accidents. To improve the safety and smooth of the highway and reduce the incidence of traffic accidents and the operating cost of the system.This thesis based on research and design of networking technology highway vehicle safety warning system, the leading research and design as follows:First, the thesis had a brief introduction on the fundamental concept of Internet of Things, Internet of Vehicles(IOV) and the development status of domestic and international highway, and then it had a detailed introduction on internet of vehicles and its related applications and some problems about IOV in developing.Second,The main hardware modules of the highway security early warning system are demonstrated and analyzed, and then used STC12C5A60S2 as microprocessor chips and STR-30 as wireless communication module is designed which based on the technology of IOV, on the basis of the completion of the hardware circuit design,It researched some classic media access control(MAC) protocol and routing protocol about wireless communication network. and designed the MAC protocol,routing protocol and realized the network as chain wireless communication for the highway security early warning system based on IOV.Warning system sent the vehicles’ information,traffic alarm information and traffic location and other traffic safety information to the monitoring center. The center could deal with those information timely, and sent the warning information to the driver who is driving on highway. It could avoid the traffic congestion and even reduce the incidence of“second accident”. It could achieve remote real-time monitor of the highway, to improve traffic warning mechanism and the level of highway intelligent management.
