Vehicle steering system is an important safety part of cars, Its function is to ensure that the car could according to the drivers’ will to change or resume driving direction. Therefore, it is the focus among the automotive scholars and practitioners at home or abroad to study of steering system. In this paper, depend on the the test bench of vehicle steering system development project of Chengdu Kong Hui Automobile Technology co., LTD., the author of this paper to do a thorough research of the vehicle steering system and its related technical problems in test-bench.To test-bench development, based on the test bench features to explore to mechanical design and components selection and turned back to positive moment was made in the research process. For professional test-bench in testing steering system, Aligning torque is the key problem in evaluating of the validity and rationality of the test bench. This paper explores the model of aligning torque,to came up with a idea to build two kinds of model for each different mechanism.,this paper is divided into running steering and pivot steering.,to do real test respectively for two kinds of model, proved the accuracy of the model.In addition, This article explores the constructing scheme of mechanical steering system model with the bench. Steering system model is one of the important way for scholars to study the vehicle steering system, Auxiliary scholars to build a reliable model of the steering system is one of the important features of this test-bench. This paper build reliable model of the steering system based on the thinking of "modeling, identification, authentication", using genetic algorithm toolbox in Matlab/Simulink software to identificate parameters, validated the feasibility of this approach in the end.
